Bexhill insurance employees bring children to work
Bexhill insurance company employees' children got the chance to see where their parents work as part of a community initiative.
Hastings Direct opened its doors to younger members of the community as colleagues were invited to bring their kids to work for the afternoon on Tuesday, December 6.
The children got a sneak peek at their mum’s and dad’s workplace at the insurance company’s head office on Collington Avenue, met their workmates and took part in the company’s annual Christmas card competition.
Hastings Direct’s Samantha Burton said her son Liam thought the experience was ‘infinity per cent amazing’ and even she was excited to show him around her office.
“My little boy couldn’t wait to visit mummy at work, and when we got home we were so happy,” she said.
“I asked him how much he liked it and he said, ‘it was infinity per cent amazing’.
“He was so excited when I told him as I’ve always wanted the opportunity to help him understand where I am all day as I am a single parent – so even I was excited.
“He even bought in his own pens and diamanté stickers to use for the Christmas card competition.”
The Christmas card designs, along with those entered earlier, were judged and the winning two designs revealed.
They will now be used as the official Hastings Direct Christmas e-card 2016.
Events and community relations manager Jay Wootten said bringing the children in to see their parents’ workplace was a ‘great success’.
“It’s the first time we have offered colleagues the chance to bring their children into work and it was great to see so many come along,” she said.
“The afternoon was a great success and we look forward to meeting more members of our extended Hastings [Direct] family in the future.”
