Bexhill pair face manslaughter charges

TWO Bexhill men have appeared before a judge accused of the manslaughter of an elderly man they allegedly robbed days earlier.

Raymond Atkins, 32, of Albert Road, and Phillip Howell, 27, of Rotherfield Avenue, both denied robbery of a wallet from Jacques Manlow on June 17 this year.

During a hearing at Lewes Crown Court, they also both denied the manslaughter of Mr Manlow, 82, who died days later on June 24. The pair were remanded in custody by Judge Richard Brown before they stand trial on March 27 next year.
