Local 1066 Citizens Advice CEO Tracy Dighton said: “We have 50 volunteers working for us at the moment but the demand on the service is such that we would always welcome new people.

“We have been celebrating Volunteers’ Week with tea and cake, speeches and thank you certificates and will be going out for a meal together later this month.

“Our volunteers dealt with around 16,000 issues and 4,400 clients last year. It brings me a real sense of optimism to work with people who give their time to help their fellow citizens.”

A money advice service offers appointments for advice on complex debt issues and casework support in managing debt.
