Chance for youngsters to box clever in Pebsham

Young boxers can now meet for training at Pebsham Community Centre.

Southlands Amateur Boxing Club provides classes on Tuesday and Friday evenings from 7-8.30pm, as well as on Saturday mornings from 11-12.30pm, at the community centre on Seabourne Road.

Training is for girls as well as boys and aimed at 10 years old upwards.

Head coach is ex-England school boy boxer Nick Borrow, and junior tuition costs 2.50, while senior is 3.

The club is fully insured and registered with the Amateur Boxing Association.

Pebsham's councillor Charlie Clark said: "I am very pleased the boxing club decided to use the facilities of the Pebsham Community Centre.

"I was also able to help them with a grant application to Rother's community safety fund, resulting in a 450 award.

Despite limited resources Rother District Council is very keep to support activities for young people in Rother.

"I have also accepted an invitation to be a patron for the club."
