Charity’s donationcentre now open

Clear out you drawers and take your unwanted items down The Sara Lee Trust’s new donation centre close to Bexhill town centre.

The donation centre, at Unit 10, Wainwright road, Beeching road Industrial Estate (behind the police station), is the first in Bexhill for the local charity. It has easy access and free parking which will be a big help to many says Emma Dell, Retail Manager for the Sara Lee Trust. “It will save those wishing to donate struggling to find a parking space close to one of our shops and carrying bags and boxes along the street,” she said.

“Donors can simply pull up at the door and transfer everything from their car, with one of our volunteers at hand to help if needed.

“At the donation centre, goods will be sorted by our volunteers and distributed to one of our charity shops where the items are resold to support the Trust’s work with local people who have cancer or other life threatening illnesses with support for their families and carers.”

Initially the centre will be open Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10-1pm, welcoming donations of saleable items including clothing, accessories, toys, games, DVDs, CDs, linen, electrical and household items, pictures, jewellery etc.

The Trust can also undertake house collections and clearances by appointment. Call 01424 272358, text 07983 526970 or email [email protected]

The Trust aims to improve the lives and well-being of people living with cancer and other life-threatening illnesses in the Hastings and Rother area. Anyone interested in volunteering is invited to a volunteering open day at the donation centre on Wednesday October 21, 10-12pm. www.saraleetrust.org
