Christmas party for Bexhill youth football

Bexhill Youth FC gave "something back" to players and families by holding a Christmas party at Sidley Community Centre for over 100 guests.

Recent fundraising events which achieved almost 1200 meant that the club was able to provide the children and their families with a buffet, disco, party games, raffle and each child received a present of a selection box and a football from Father Christmas.

Club founder and head coach Lyntton Peppiatt said: "The evening's been a success - the kids and parents have really enjoyed themselves, and that's what it's all about. Without them there is no club. The fundraising events mean we can cover our overheads and also give something back to the kids by having parties like this and we've got subsidised days-out planned for the kids next year. We've had a fantastic 2008. The club's grown and we're attracting more and more children through word-of-mouth as the quality of coaching is second to none.

"It's been a busy year getting everything in place to move forward. We achieved our Charter Standard Development Club status a few months ago and we're now one of only eleven clubs in Sussex who've been awarded this status which, for a club that's only been going for less than two years, is fantastic".
