Clues over road man's injuries

POLICE are a step closer to unravelling the mystery of a road smash which left a young Bexhill man horrifically injured.

It is thought a car slammed into Ceyhun Koseoglu as he waited for a taxi, but the 20-year-old has no memory of the incident - which sliced his face, broke off teeth and left him needing 12 stitches.

The Observer appealed last week for witnesses to the accident, which happened in Havelock Road, Hastings, on March 14 at 2.15am after Ceyhun left the Brass Monkey.

Mum Trudy Davis, who lives with her son in High Street, Bexhill, said: "I find it hard to comprehend how someone could drive away from that - you wouldn't do that if it was a dog or a cat."

PC Chris Harrison said: "We have had two responses that have both been helpful and of value, and both positive towards resolving the question of what happened that night.

"They both indicated an involvement with a car.

"There have also been further developments on the CCTV front."
