Local choir Waits and Measures, who have been singing together for 20 years, will be holding a concert at St Barnabas Church in Bexhill to raise funds for St Michael’s Hospice.
The concert, which takes place on Saturday November 7, at 7.30pm, has been called ‘The Healing Power’. Producers of the event say it promises to be a ‘beautiful and highly talented performance’ by the 16 performers, which include musical director Robert Alwinckle, a renowned international harpsichordist and voice coach.
One of the members of Waits and Measures - and whose partner (William Holloway) was cared for by ‘Hospice at Home’ staff - Maureen James, expressed thanks for their help at a difficult time. “I can’t find adequate words to express how grateful we were to be supported by such wonderful dedicated people,” she said.
“I want to thank them all so much. They were amazing. The least I can do is sing for them to help support all their work.”
Entry to the concert is free with a retiring collection in aid of St Michael’s Hospice. Refreshments will be available.
