Conquest Hospital horror - Saturday

Amazing is word to describe it.. shocking another

Politics and ludicrousy have reached all new levels within the conquest >hospital.

It was revealed last year that there would be staff car >parking charges of 50 pence per day, coming into affect from 1st January 2007.>

Although some staff do not have a problem with paying this, other >personnel who are not earning as much will have to pay a possible 115 per annum.>

This non-negotiable fee was implemented despite staff taking out >grievances with the board who felt that the decision was undemocratic >and that board's approach was dictatorial.>

This is another blow to the already dismayed staff whose futures are >already in doubt over threats of closure to the Accident and Emergency >department.>

Staff feel that they already work above and beyond their call of duty >for derisory pay and see these charges as a slap in the face.>

Their cheated feeling has only been proliferated by the latest news >that the hospital has employed a private company to patrol the car park >and enforce parking rules.

In order to turn a profit and pay its >workforce, this company must enforce one hundred 40 fines per week.>

Staff are aggrieved because of this news and we feel it is completely >inappropriate. Somebody should be forced to face accountabilty for >these deplorable actions.

The majority of staff would not mind paying >for car parking, aslong as the income generated was ploughed back into >the hospital to help relieve its debt and improve conditions
