Little Common Primary School raised an incredible £10,000 with its hugely successful cost-neutral Summer Fair.
The school PTA enlisted the help of the community and local businesses with the aim of making the event (last Saturday) cost-neutral.
People arrived in their hundreds, with queues forming before the gates opened at 12pm.
Ebony Varney of Little Common School PTA said: “Our objective was to create a cost neutral summer fete where our costs would be covered by sponsorship and advertising donations and this is exactly what we achieved.
“ We received fantastic support from many local businesses and for this we are truly grateful.”
Ebony added: “Funds raised will be reinvested into the school and used to significantly improve the learning experience of the 600 plus children enrolled at Little Common School.
“It really was a community spirited event and as well as the many cash donations, companies also gave in other ways which enabled thePTA to further boost funds raised.
“Substantial sponsorship donations were made by Property Cafe, Trattoria, Bexhill Motors Group, Cooden Medical Group, Cooden Dental Practice, Lifescape and Cooden Beach Hotel, while other companies such as the Devonshire Bar and Lounge, The Denbigh and Tesco gave product donations which were in turn sold and converted directly into additional funds.
“Lotte Scott of the PTA had this to add: “Our raffle prizes this year were of an excellent standard and included various popular attraction tickets, beauty treatments, karate sessions, a round of golf at the Cooden Beach Golf club and a whole range of other great prizes kindly donated by local businesses. A huge Thank you to everyone who supported and attended the event.”
All companies who supported the fete were highlighted in a 16 page colour programme that was specifically created for the fete and 1000 copies of the programme as well as Grand Draw tickets were kindly organised and paid for by Hastings Direct.
