Little Common Primary raised £10,000 toward new facilities at the school with a successful summer fete.
The school PTA enlisted the help of the community and local businesses with the aim of making the event cost-neutral.
Ebony Varney of Little Common School PTA said: “Our objective was to create a cost neutral summer fete where our costs would be covered by sponsorship and advertising donations and this is exactly what we achieved.
“We received fantastic support from many local businesses and for this we are truly grateful.
“Funds raised will be reinvested into the school and used to significantly improve the learning experience of the 600 plus children enrolled at Little Common School.
“It really was a community spirited event and as well as the many cash donations, companies also gave in other ways which enabled the PTA to further boost funds raised.
“The school would like to thank staff, PTA members and parents who helped us, particularly PTA co-chair Donna Crouch, who worked very hard, as did former PTA chair and long-standing member Nicola Jack.”
