June 22:

Robert Mitchell (aged 54), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to dishonestly making off without paying for hot food worth £30.35. The offence took place at St Leonards on June 2. He also admitted being in breach of a conditional discharge made by the court on April 18 for stealing a bottle of wine, worth £2.50 from Lidl. He was fined £40 and ordered to pay £30.35 in compensation.

Gavin Nash (aged 33), of Wickford Avenue, Basildon, Essex, pleaded guilty to driving a VW Golf on North Terrace, Hastings, on June 5 while more than three times over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 119 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison suspended for one year and banned from driving for four years. Magistrates said the reason for the sentence was that it was his second drink driving offence within a short period of time.

Allen Welch (aged 38), of Whitebread lane, Beckley, pleaded guilty to driving a Mitsubishi vehicle on De La Warr Road, Bexhill, on April with the controlled drug Benzoylecgonine and cocaine in his system. He was banned from driving for a year and fined a total of £400.

Robert Spillane (aged 37), of Montgomery Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW on Victoria Avenue, Hastings on June 7 while more than twice over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 97 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.

James Reader (aged 50), of Claremont Road, Sidley, Bexhill pleaded guilty to assault by beating and using threatening behaviour. The offences took place at Hastings on May 19. He was fined a total of £120.

Benjamin Brugger (aged 36), of Datchet Drive, Southend, Essex, pleaded guilty to breaching a restraining order and committing a further offence during a period of suspended sentence made for harassment. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.

James Campion (aged 32), of Sparrows Green, Wadhurst, pleaded guilty to failing to provide a breath specimen at Hastings Police Station on June 12. The court made a community order with a requirement of 150 hours of unpaid work and banned him from driving for two years.

Ryan Hatcher (aged 26), of Tram Road, Rye Harbour, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly at Terminus Road, Bexhill on June 10. He was given a 15 month conditional discharge.

Anthony McDonald (aged 60), of Caves Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Old London Road, Hastings, on June 10, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 63 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £420 and banned from driving for three years.

Christopher Wilberforce (aged 34), of Broadway, Fairlight, pleaded guilty to driving a vehicle on Rock Lane, Guestling, on March 2 with amphetamine in his blood stream. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for three years.

Patrick Reville (aged 51), of St Georges Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to stealing a bottle of Jack Daniels, worth £25 from Morrisons, at Hastings, on May 31. He was given a 12 month conditional discharge.
