Crackdown on benefit fraud

The online community warning service has taken up the appeal by Rother District Council's fraud team.

The team says much of the information provided to its staff comes from members of the public, for which the council is grateful.

"Any contact is confidential and those reporting suspected fraud do not have to give their name.

"Fraud can be reported anonymously by contacting the Fraud Investigation Team on the Council's 24 hour Hotline on 01424 787737 or by completing the online Report-a-Fraud form on the Rother website at www.rother.gov.uk.

"Alternatively suspected fraud can be reported by logging onto the National Benefit Fraud website at www.targetingfraud.gov.uk/ or by telephoning the freephone National Hotline on 0800 854440."
