Bexhill teenager charged with five counts of rape

A teenager from Bexhill has been charged with multiple counts of rape, the Crown Prosecution Service (CPS) has confirmed.

The CPS said Lewis Jackson, 19, of Filsham Drive, has been charged with five counts of rape and one count of assault by penetration.

Jackson pleaded not guilty to all six charges when he appeared at Lewes Crown Court on Monday (February 25), the court confirmed.

The CPS said he is due to appear at Lewes Crown Court for his trial on July 8.

In a statement, Sussex Police said: “Lewis Jackson, 19, a hairdresser of Filsham Drive, Bexhill-on-Sea, was summonsed to appear at Hastings Magistrates’ Court on January 28 to face five charges of rape of woman 16 years of age or over and one of sexual assault of another female 13 and over by penetration with part of a body or a thing.

“He appeared at PCMH (plea and case management hearing) at Hove Crown Court on February 25, 2019. where he pleaded not guilty and was remanded in custody for trial on July 18.”
