November 11:

Andrew Loureiro, 49, of Caves Road, St Leonards, was found guilty of assaulting a woman by beating her. The offence took place at Hastings on March 15 last year. The court made a community order with a requirement of 60 hours of unpaid work. Magistrates issued a restraining order.

Joe Wibberley, 30, of Battle Road, St Leonards, indicated a plea of guilty to distributing two Category A and two Category B indecent images of children. The offences took place between December 15 2017 and October 22 2018. 
He also indicated guilty pleas to charges of making no fewer than 334 Category A indecent images of children, 208 Category B indecent images of children and 673 Category C indecent images of children, on, or before, October 30 2018. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on March 3 and released on conditional bail.

Karl James, 30, of Battle Road, St Leonards, indicated a plea of guilty to distributing five Category A indecent images of children and one Category A indecent movie of children. He indicated guilty pleas to distributing two Category B video images of children and one Category C image of children. The offences took place between December 15 2017 and October 22 2018. He also indicated guilty pleas to charges of making no fewer than 237 Category A indecent images of children, 261 Category B indecent images of children and 287 Category C indecent images of children, on, or before, October 30 2018. He was committed to Lewes Crown Court for sentencing on March 3 and released on conditional bail.

Christopher Godfrey, 23, of Priory Close, Hastings, pleaded guilty to driving a Volkswagen vehicle on Battle Road, St Leonards, on August 9, last year, while over the drink drive limit. He gave a blood alcohol reading of 132 milligrammes. The legal limit is 80 milligrammes. He was fined £265 and banned from driving for one year.

Danny King, 21, of Willingdon Avenue, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Ford vehicle on Rock-a-Nore Road, Hastings, on July 20, last year, while disqualified from driving. The court made a community order with a two month electronically monitored curfew between 8pm and 6am. He was banned from driving for one year.

February 8:

A 16-year-old Bexhill youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to assault by beating. The offence took place in Bexhill on November 26. The court made a Youth Rehabilitation Order with Intensive Supervision and issued a restraining order.

A 17-year-old Bexhill youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to riding a moped, on Dalehurst Road, Bexhill, on October 2, without a crash helmet. He was fined £50.

A 16-year-old Hastings youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to arson at Eastbourne on August 21 last year. He also pleaded guilty to damaging a window belonging to Eastbourne Council and to assault by beating, at Eastbourne on the same date. He pleaded guilty to two charges of assault by beating at Eastbourne on November 20. He was referred to the East Sussex Youth Offender Panel for a one year contract and ordered to pay £50 in compensation.

A 17-year-old Bexhill youth, who cannot be named for legal reasons, pleaded guilty to being in possession of a quantity of cannabis at Hastings on July 19. He was referred to the East Sussex Youth Offender Panel for a four month contract.

February 9:

Zachary Ben-Abdulla, 29, of Greenfields Close, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a BMW vehicle without due care and attention, on Vale Road, St Leonards, on January 18, 2020. He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop for police at St Leonards on the same date. He was fined £65 and his driving record endorsed with five penalty points.
