Man arrested after police end pursuit on Bexhill link road

A man has been arrested after a vehicle failed to stop for police near Bexhill.

Officers were made aware of a car travelling at excess speed around 7.15am on Friday (November 20).

The vehicle was spotted again around 8.20am, according to police, and a short pursuit occurred.

The police helicopter was also dispatched to assist with the pursuit.

Police made tactical contact with the car to bring it to a safe stop on Combe Valley Way, a police spokesman confirmed

No injuries have been reported.

A police spokesman said: “A man was arrested on suspicion of failing to stop for police, dangerous driving and theft of a motor vehicle. He remains in police custody at this time.”

A section of the road was closed while the vehicles were recovered but has since reopened.
