Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor didn’t manage a 17th world darts championship at the weekend but it wasn’t for lack of support.
Darts fan Barby Leel was taken to Alexander Palace for the first round of the tournament as a treat organised by friends Dave Stevenson, Ashan Jeeawon, and Rik Cowlard. Barby has played darts all her life and longed to meet her hero Phil. Rik said: “Barby consideres leaving Sidley as ‘going abroad’ but endured the three hour journey each way. In the VIP lounge Barby got to meet many professional players including John Part, Justin Pipe, Darren Webster, Peter Wright and Gerwin Price. Afterwards she got to meet Phil Taylor who took the time to give Barby a kiss and a cuddle and spent some time chatting to her.”
