Delivery driver verbally abused in Ninfield

A motorist hurled abuse at a delivery driver during a road rage incident in Ninfield.

The incident happened at around 10.30am on Sunday, December 27.

A red Mitsubishi FTO overtook a supermarket delivery van in a dangerous manner on the A269 Bexhill Road before forcing the van to stop.

The Mitsubishi driver got out of his car and hurled abuse at the deliveryman before causing damage to the van.

A 28-year-old Battle man has been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, criminal damage, threatening behaviour and resisting a constable in the execution of his duty.

He has been released on bail until January 29 while police enquiries continue.
