Staff at the Cooden Beach Hotel once again donned their festive woolly jumpers as part of the Text Santa charity event on Friday, December 18, supporting Macmillan Cancer, Make a Wish and Save the Children.

The money raised by staff on the day was doubled by hotel owner James Kimber, which will again be doubled by the government, making a total contribution of £400.

Text Santa is ITV’s annual fundraising appeal that aims to give hope to families in difficulty.

From helping those families affected by crisis, to granting wishes to children fighting life-threatening conditions, to funding nurses so those with cancer get the care they need, it aims to give hope to families in the UK and overseas.

Since first launched in 2011, more than £21 million has been raised in support of 22 different charities and significant awareness around the vital work each charity contributes.

This year a total of £8.5 million has been raised during Text Santa Christmas Jumper Day.
