Double celebration at St Mary Magdelene school

TWO celebrations, described as 'exciting times', were held recently at Bexhill's, St Mary Magdalene primary school.

Headteacher Mrs Longmire said the school's annual Harvest Festival, led by Father Chris Spain, saw children, parents and carers, "joining together in thoughtful reflection on how lucky we are to have such a wonderful harvest available to us and how we can support those who are less fortunate than ourselves."

As part of the celebrations children donated small change, or Fair Trade food to support CAFOD '“ Catholic Agency For Overseas Development, who work alongside the poor regardless of race.

A second celebration at the school saw over ninety parents/carers attending an afternoon tea to celebrate National Parents week.

This held a special surprise in store when children from year 1 to year 6 sang a selection of French songs which Mrs Longmire said was, "to show off their linguistic skills", and which was, "to the delight of their parents/carers".
