England Junior Squash Coach to help out at taster sessions

Over the next three weeks local youngsters aged between 5 - 14 years will be able to try a Squash taster session and receive expert advice at Bexhill Leisure Centre, Down Road.

Kevin Higginson will be mentoring youngsters, helping improve their technique and ensuring the junior squash taster sessions, which will be held on October 9, 16 and 23 between 2.30-4:00pm, are a lot of fun.

As part of Freedom Leisure's drive to increase the variety of activities available to young people, the centre will provide all equipment and fully trained staff will be on hand to ensure the sessions run smoothly.

With a variety of fun games planned for the Saturday afternoon sessions, the team hopes to encourage younger members of the local community to play this fast-paced and exciting game on a more regular basis.

Ross Philipson, Bexhill Leisure Centre Manager said: "'Squash is an exciting game for all ages and we hope that the taster afternoon will attract youngsters to come and have a go and enjoy trying something new.

"We are thrilled to have Kevin Higginson along and we are sure that he will inspire the kids that participate."

The taster sessions cost 2.50 each and the Freedom Leisure team hope that some of the young squash players will be "bitten by the bug" and sign up for the new Junior Squash course commencing on November 6.
