Families invited to host tea parties to raise funds for NCT

THE NCT (National Childbirth Trust) is appealing to local families to host a Cheeky Monkey's Tea Party this summer.

The charity needs to find over 50,000 to support the set up of a new helpline called, 'Postnatal Line', which will offer mums & dads support to help them through the early stages of parenting.

Anyone can host a Cheeky Monkey's Tea Party including children's centres, businesses, nurseries or schools.

"Life with a new baby can be an amazing experience. However, for some it can be quite a daunting whirlwind, leaving new parents feeling nervous or lacking in confidence. Our new helpline will be open to all parents so they can call us and get support when they need it most."

Mum Simone Leaver said; "When I had my first son, I was at my wits end. I was very tired and couldn't get him into a sleeping routine. Having an expert to talk to, with a supportive voice at the end of phone, would have helped me a lot.

"I'm hosting a Cheeky Monkey's Tea Party this summer to raise money for a good cause and help other new parents get support during those testing times."

National Family Week is also encouraging families to host a Tea Party throughout the Week from 31 May '“ 6 June.
