Family Centre organises season of fun

CHILDREN'S centres in Bexhill are staging a bustling programme of events for youngsters over the summer.

Fun days, messy play and dads' groups are among the free activities on offer in Egerton Park, Little Common Recreation Ground, Ninfield Play Area, Sidley Children's Centre, the Old Town and the De La Warr Pavilion through August.

The summer programme also extends over Sedlescombe, Rye, Battle and Peasmarsh.

Karen Martin, Rother Children's Centre activity organiser, said puppet-making and kite workshops were likley to prove popular.

"Many of the stay-and-play sessions are taking place outdoors and families can make a day of it by bringing their own picnic," she said. "Events also include tennis sessions for children from three to nine years old, indoor bowls for the over-eight's and dads' groups."

'¢ The first event is a play day on Monday, August 2, in Egerton Park, from 11am-2pm. Another play day starts in the De La Warr Pavilion at 10am-12noon on Wednesday, August 4.
