Fantastic fashion fundraiser

The Cooden Beach Hotel was packed out for a charity fashion show arranged by wives of the Bexhill-on-Sea Lions Club.

The audience consisted of 150 ladies of all ages. Numerous garments from high street stores, were modelled with great style by volunteers including Sally Moore, Amanda Durrant and Sharon Bignell. After the show there was great excitement as the clothes and many more could then be tried on and purchased.

Barbara Burstow, wife of Bexhill-on-Sea Lion President David Burstow, said "The whole evening was a great success. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves no matter what their age. We raised 1000 which is fantastic. Half the money will go directly to the Lion's Club to be used to help various local groups and the other half to the Centre of Hope in Dorohoi, a little town in the north east corner of Romania.

This is a family centre which has been set up by Peter and Leslie Butcher, family members of an Eastbourne Lion, so I know that this money will all be used for it's purpose and not get lost in administration costs. I would like to say a big thank you to all those all helped to make the evening such a great success."
