Female steals and crashes friends car

AN EIGHTEEN year old female has been charged with aggravated vehicle taking after she stole, and subsequently crashed, a friend's car in Pembury Grove in the early hours of Saturday morning.

A police spokesperson said the incident came about after an argument had ensued between the friends, who had been in town having drinks, at approximately 2.30 am.

The female concerned had returned to her home in Pembury Grove and claims she then decided that she wanted to find her friend and apologise to her for the argument.

Taking her friend's car keys she proceeded to steal her red Vauxhall Tigra car and attemted to drive it.

With no insurance and only a provisional driving license, she subsequently crashed into a parked Rover damaging both cars and causing, what police estimate to be, approximately 1000 of damage.

She was arrested and charged at the scene and is due to appear at Hastings Magistrates court next week.
