East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Holliers Hill at around 7.55pm after reports of a car fire.

The gas cylinder had disconnected from the LPG car, a vehicle that runs on gas instead of petrol, meaning gas was leaking so the area was evacuated.

Sussex Police were in attendance for traffic control.
