Firefighters extinguished an LPG car on fire in Bexhill last night (Tuesday, July 12).

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service were called to Holliers Hill at around 7.55pm after reports of a car fire.

The gas cylinder had disconnected from the LPG car, a vehicle that runs on gas instead of petrol, meaning gas was leaking so the area was evacuated.

Sussex Police were in attendance for traffic control.

Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to put out the fire
