The theme of this year’s Festival was On The Box, with displays inspired by television favourites.

Chairman Christine Purkess said: “Visitors were stunned by the variety of the interpretation of television programmes, from the stylish ‘Have I got news for you’ through the ‘Frozen Planet’, with penguins made from plant material, to the colourful chorus line at the ‘London Palladium’ and a black and white television arrangement amongst many others.

“There were many different ideas and great detail from a very talented group of flower arrangers.

“The festival was to raise awareness and money for three charities: The Medical Detection Dogs, the Bexhill Dementia Action Alliance and the Dragonflies Project which helps children cope with bereavement.

“The Festival was opened by Lucky, a black Labrador, who is a medical alert assistance dog for his owner, Brian Lynn.”
