Forthcoming walk

SUNDAY, September 19 sees another of the Bexhill Museum walks, visiting places which have wartime memories for many people in Bexhill.

Heather Morrey, walks organiser, said: "This time the the circular 2.5 mile, 2.5 hour walk will visit the centre of the town, starting from the museum in Egerton Road at 2 pm.

"Although the route was followed earlier in the year, this walk will highlight some new memories, including one or two stories about Spike Milligan, famously stationed in Bexhill during part of the conflict.

"We will also be looking at images of air raid shelters which have only recently come to light."

The walk costs 2.50 per person, or 1 for accompanied children, with proceeds gioing to museum funds. The walk is unsuitable for dogs.'
