St Michael’s Hospice has a wealth of events planned in the next few weeks and invites people to go along, have some fun and support the local charity.
Tomorrow, (June 13) local wood turning businessman Mike Dean is holding a Westfield School, Youth Club and Village Disco Reunion at Westfield Community Hall, 7.30pm-late. Open to anyone who was born and bred in Westfield, the evening is in memory of Mikes’ mum who ran the youth club discos in the 70’s and 80’s. Mike said: “She passed away over 12 years ago at the Hospice. It would be nice to give something back to show my appreciation for the care they gave her.”
There will be refreshments, raffle, and a secret celebrity appearance. Fancy dress is encouraged. Entry by donation to the Hospice. To book tickets, call 01424 752000.
Sunday (June 14) the Gecko Bar, Grand Parade, St Leonards, hosts a Pop Up Art Show, 12pm-late. Local artists Eddy Odel and Paul Marsh will exhibit a stunning variety of blues and jazz prints, with 20 per cent of proceeds donated to the Hospice.
There will also be a melodic blues and jazz session from Eddy and friends from 4pm.
Join the St Michael’s Hospice Riding Club for their annual Dog Show on Saturday June 27, at Three Oaks Village Hall from 11.30am. The Fun Dog Show is a great day out for all the family, even those without dogs.
