Organisers of the Bexhill Carnival are reflecting on a week of successful events which saw the town take part in a range of events to raise money for the Carnival charity partners – Senlac Scouts, Special Olympics Hastings & Rother and The Oliver Curd Trust.
Nim Whitmarsh, chairman of the carnival committee said: “Well done Bexhill and thank you for supporting the events of carnival week.
“We have seen attendance figures for every event increase, which is really pleasing to see.
“We must thank our main sponsor Hastings Direct for its financial and practical assistance and our co-sponsors who made all events free for the community.”
Jay Wootten, community liaison at Hastings Direct said “We have really enjoyed another year of carnival week.
“The support this year has been superb so well done Bexhill.
“Our highlight of the week was seeing the crowds arrive for party in the park in the pouring rain which shows how far the community are prepared to go to support this week.”
Margaret Garcia sent in these pictures from the carnival for our online gallery.
An eight-page special supplement, sponsored by Hastings Direct, with more pictures and reaction will be in this week’s Bexhill Observer (Friday, July 31, edition).
