A great Christmas treat

A GREAT Christmas Treat...'the Italian Way!' A fabulous group of well-deserving guests enjoyed The Italian Way Christmas Treat on Sunday.

The guests had all been nominated for the treat by proud and grateful friends and relatives who had sent in nominations to the Observer.

The party enjoyed a traditional three-course Christmas dinner with roast turkey and all the trimmings at the Italian Way, with gifts of Christmas hampers presented by Mark Finch of McPherson & Partners.

The party then moved on to the De La Warr Pavilion where they enjoyed the wonderful Family Christmas Concert presented by the Orchestra of St John.

The day out was organised by Luca Venditto, of The Italian Way Restaurant, who said: "We are delighted at how well the day has gone.

"The nomination letters were heart-warming, we feel privileged to have met these lovely people who do so much for their families, neighbours and community.

"Despite some of them being in their late 80s and 90s, they find time and energy to support others.

"This was a great opportunity for those who are grateful for their help, to show them and give them a treat in return!"

"I can't thank everybody who was involved in arranging the day enough for their generous support; The Bexhill Observer for the promotion, The De La Warr Pavilion who gave complimentary concert tickets and McPherson & Partners for the lovely presents they gave to every one of our guests.

"It just goes to show the community spirit and generosity that is so prevalent in this town. There were some really deserving people in the group and I am proud to have been able to do something as a way of saying thank you. Together, I think we achieved it".
