This is a 100-mile continuous trail race, based in the twinned villages of Goring and Streatley on the River Thames.

The course reflects the shape of a cross and takes runners on a series of four different 25-mile out and back spurs using sections of both the Ridgeway and Thames Path National Trails.

Brogan completed the course in 27 hours and 11 minutes, earning his coveted 100-mile Centurian belt buckle.

On the course he was fully supported by good friend and fellow HY ultra-runner Carl Adams.

This was Brogan’s first attempt at the 100-mile distance having completed the Wendover Woods 50-mile race, also put on by Centurion, in November 2019.

Brogan said of the 100-mile event: “It was an amazing experience. Life in one day!

“What I learned was the bad things that happened I could turn to my advantage - a good metaphor for life.

“The other thing I learnt was that true friendship (Carl) is a wonderful thing - he helped me get this done.

“I wouldn’t have done it without him.”
