Hastings Direct has announced it will once again be the main sponsor of Bexhill Carnival for the fourth year running.
Attracting more than 18,000 residents last year, the Bexhill Carnival week is the pinnacle in the town’s calendar.
Hosting a number of activities and events across seven days, the week culminates with the carnival procession, which last year saw more than 50 floats take part and more than £3,000 raised for the charity partners and community groups.
Hoping to be bigger and better than previous years, this year’s carnival week will be held from Sunday, July 24, through to Saturday, July 30.
This year’s theme will be Musicals, Films and Theatre, which the organisers hope will be reflected throughout the celebrations.
As with previous years, there will be a range of free events for everyone to get involved with.
Gary Hoffman, Hastings Group CEO, said the insurance firm was looking forward to this summer’s event.
Mr Hoffman said: “As Bexhill’s largest employer, we are proud to be sponsoring the Bexhill Carnival for the fourth year running.
“It’s a privilege to be involved in the fun and excitement of the week, along with the rest of our community.
“Our colleagues and families really enjoy supporting the week, taking part in the great activities and of course, leading the carnival procession with our Hastings float!”
Nim Whitmarsh, chairman of Bexhill Carnival, said: “We are delighted that Hastings Direct has agreed to be the carnival’s main sponsor again this year.
“Their financial, professional and practical support will enable us, with other co-sponsors, to continue to provide the community with a week of free events and activities.”
Every year the Bexhill Carnival looks to support three local charities and event organisers are now on the look-out for who they will be supporting this year.
