The next meeting of the Hastings and District NHS Retirement Fellowship takes place on Monday 16 February.

Guest speaker will be Ian Millington who will recount his experience of life as a police constable.

This is a change to the programme and Ann Kramer will be joining the group on 16 March.

A spokesperson said: “Last month we welcomed Ian Porter plus two other members from The Winkle Club based in Hastings who gave us a very interesting talk on the club and how it was formed in 1900 to raise money for a party for the children of Hastings fishermen.

“The club has grown from strength to strength over the years with many famous people including royalty being members. We thank Mr Porter and colleagues very much for coming and for an informative and enjoyable afternoon.

“There will be excellent prizes to be won on the raffle and a selection of books and puzzles in the library to be bought or borrowed.

“If you have ever worked for the NHS in any area, why not try our ever growing friendly group.

“We are the local branch of the National Fellowship and meet once a month at The Health Centre, Bexhill Hospital.”
