Hastings motorcyclist seriously injured in collision

A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries following a collision in Hastings yesterday evening (Sunday, August 16).

Emergency services were called to a report of a collision between a motorcyclist and a car on the A259 White Rock at 6.55pm.

Police said an 18-year-old man, who was riding a Yamaha motorcycle, suffered serious leg injuries and was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital, Brighton, by air ambulance.

The driver of the BMW car involved was not injured.

Police added that the road was closed for five hours while the incident was being dealt with and for the vehicles to be recovered.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to report online or ring 101 quoting Operation Freshbrook.
