The crowds turned out in their hundreds at the Heart of Sidley Free Family Fun Day on Friday, August 14.

Sidley Recreation Ground was filled with stalls, inflatables and activities including free dog clipping, make your own smoothie and dance with Uncle Bumble.

The community partnership’s mascot Sid rubbed shoulders with mayor Maurice Watson, Rother District Council chairman Jimmy Carroll and Bexhill and Battle MP Huw Merriman.

The day was funded by the National Lottery/Big Local grant of £1million to regenerate Sidley and provide activities and facilities in the area.

Heart of Sidley’s Audrey Pinnington said: “The grant gives us huge opportunities for the area and the partnership are working really hard to deliver the needs of the residents.

“The fun day has showed that Sidley is a lovely place to come to and that we can do great things”.
