Bexhill Rotary Club raised an impressive £5,400 for good causes with its annual Golf Tournament.
The event, now in its 23rd year, saw 19 teams competing on a fine sunny day at Cooden Beach Golf Club.
Event coordinator Charles Taylor said “I am delighted with the £5,400 raised on the day and extremely grateful for the support of the event by participants and sponsors”.
Sponsors included: Alexander James Financial Planning, Betts & Lloyd, Colin H Stutely FRICS – Chartered Surveyor, Domaines Du Chateau, F E Philcox, Gibbons Mannington Phipps, Green Insurance Group, Greystones Estate Agents, Hastings Direct, Heringtons Solicitors, KT Assemblies, LifeScape Home Improvements, Peter Johnson Body Repairs, St Leonards Motors, Taylor Winchester Independent Financial Management, Total Project Management, Trattoria Italiana, Ultimate Finances and Watsons Chartered Accountant.
The winners, with a score of 88 stableford points, were the team from Watsons Associates comprising; Mark Sellings, Julian Perrott, Mat Seldon and Paul Dean.
Second place was won by Redman Howard with 85 points; Steven Howard, James Gatcum, Kevin Redman and Wale Owrunda.
In third place were Stone Cross Nurseries with 80 points; Garry Winwood, Roland Hall, Andrew Harris and Nick Wickens.
Following the competition Charles Taylor provided a welcome address acknowledging the valued support of the individual teams, the event sponsors and Cooden Beach Golf Club.
Dinner was served and the MC Adger Brown co-ordinated the Irish Bingo, Auction and announcing the winner of the star raffle prize of a 4 Ball package at Foxhills Golf and Country Park.
Bexhill Rotary Club continues to support many local charities and recently presented cheques to Bexhill Caring Community and Homecall.
The date for next year’s tournament has been set for Thursday June 23.
Bexhill Rotary Club was formed in 1923. It meets fortnightly on the 1st 3rd and 5th Tuesday of each month at 7 for 7.15pm at the Cooden Beach Golf Club
