Hundreds pay their last respects to DCI Jim Torbet

THE funeral has taken place of the policeman who was found hanged after being accused of shoplifting with a female colleague.

The service of DCI Jim Torbet took place at Eastbourne Crematorium this lunchtime.

He was a governor at Bexhill High School and lived at Peacehaven.

He was found dead a day before he was due to answer bail on the shoplifting charge.
