Hygiene advice

THE local Chinese community has gathered in Rother's community environment centre to hear about new food hygiene regulations.

Representatives of all Chinese restaurants and takeaways in the district were present for the talk by environmental health officers.

The new regulations require a full written food safety management system in all food businesses to ensure that food for the public is handled, prepared and served hygienically.

The council, working in partnership with Sompriti, were supported by Chiling Chan and Weili Ding who provided bilingual support in Cantonese and Mandarin throughout the session.

Rother said this week that the event had been a great success and will be repeated for other groups through out the year.
