Information scheme from St Leonards businesses

ST LEONARDS Town Team has been working with the St Leonards Business Association and local businesses to develop an informal information point scheme.

There is no tourist information office in the area, and owners of cafes and shops are often asked for local information.

By displaying an ‘Ask a Friendly Local’ information sticker, the businesses show they are happy to answer questions from members of the public.

Chairman of the Town Team, Erica Smith, said: “Local businesses have come to us to say that they would like to offer this service, and we decided it was a great way to show what a friendly town we are. St Leonards doesn’t have a Tourist Information office, and visitors don’t necessarily know all the fantastic things that they can do here. We want people to enjoy their time in the area. We have a wealth of heritage, fantastic shops and cafes and the locals are friendly.”

The Town Team is holding its inaugural general meeting on Tuesday,September 10, at 6pm for 6.30pm at Azur. Members of the public are welcome.
