It's good to talk - if the lines are working

A BEXHILL resident left without a phone line over Christmas called BTs response to her plight "unacceptable".

Philipa Coughlan, of Gordon Place, was one of those affected when a car crashed into a BT junction box on Christmas Eve, leaving up to 600 people without phone lines.

Though her main landline was repaired, she waited almost three weeks before engineers fixed her internet phone line, which went out a few days after the crash.

Philipa, who would normally use the web for her job, said: "It's caused me a lot of problems.

"I've been stuck at home, ill from work and cannot contact anyone on e-mail.

"My son went back to university because he cannot work here. It really annoys me as a BT customer."

Engineers eventually fixed the problem on Wednesday (January 13), after originally estimating it would be resolved by last weekend.

Emma Littlejohn, a spokesman for BT, said the company had arranged for a new home hub to be delivered and hoped this would resolve the issue.
