Kerrys wine bar opens

BEXHILL saw a number of new business ventures opening on Saturday and one that has been long anticipated was Kerrys wine bar on the corner of Marina and Sea Road.

Proprietors Darren Brabner 32, and Natasha Dempsey 25, are hoping that the venue will be used by all age groups.

Natasha said: "We wanted to create a chilled atmosphere and we are trying to cater to all age groups, children are welcome at certain times and there will be a childrens menu."

The bar boasts a varied selection of wine, which Natasha said they are always happy to consider requests or suggestions on, and light snacks are available along with freshly ground coffee.

An ambiance consisting of stunning views and a warm, welcoming interior that Natasha and Darren both planned and designed, was clearly already having an effect judging from the many people attending their opening day.

The bar is a complete change of careers for both Natasha and Darren as, although both have some bar experience, until recently Darren was a lorry driver and Natasha worked as a carer.

With three children, aged one, five and seven to care for, Natasha and Darren will be kept busy but Natasha has made arrangements around them.

She said: "I'll work in the kitchen preparing food while they are at school and, with the help of a child-minder will work out a routine to ensure that they don't miss out".

Kerrys is open seven days a week from 10am-11pm.
