Ladies Friendship Club

Our Chairman, Mrs. Jackie Saunders, welcomed members to our first Christmas Party and said how well she thought the Club was thriving after almost a year. Jackie reminded us that in January Subscriptions (£18.) are due and she would like to see more ladies coming on to Committee. Jackie then read out a few ideas for next year. We know we are all growing older because we are getting in a muddle with the birthdays for which apologies were given. If anyone else has been missed out Jackie is very sorry. Evelyn and Joyce were postmen handing out all the Christmas Cards.

Brenda, our Treasurer gave a short financial report as she is recovering from her successful knee operation, we were pleased to see her doing so well, after the failure of the previous one.

On 25th November, 21 Ladies enjoyed our Christmas Luncheon at The Priory Court Hotel, Pevensey. There will not be a luncheon in December but the Tea Club will meet at Hilliers on Tuesday 8th.

We all enjoyed the Easy Listening music provided by Andrew Winterborn and Dave Corpe playing our kind of music on the Keyboard and Double Bass, taking us back to our younger days. This was followed by our Tea party after which everyone seemed to join in the ‘clearing up’ for which the Committee were thankful.

Jackie wished the Club a Very Happy Christmas and New Year and looked forward to meeting again on Wednesday January 6th. Please arrive for 1.45 p.m. New Members and Visitors will be made most welcome at the L.C.C.A. Shepherds Close.
