A lantern workshop for kids kicks off Sidley’s Christmas celebrations which includes carol singing, face painting and more.
Heart of Sidley’s Christmas Extravaganza begins with the lantern-making workshop at All Saints Church Hall at 3.30pm on Thursday (November 24).
Children will be able to decorate lanterns for the lantern parade the following week when Santa Claus arrives in Sidley and find out more about the popular ‘spot the lion’ competition.
Bexhill Lions’ contest returns with the chance to win a cuddly lion toy and a £25 Love2Shop voucher.
The Heart of Sidley festivities continue with carol singing, lead by All Saints School Choir and singing group Sunny Side Up, at All Saints Church from 4pm on December 1.
There will be face painting, stalls and craft activities before the lantern parade from the church, down Ninfield Road to Santa’s grotto outside The New Inn, who will be available from 5.45pm.
A BBQ and Sidley Brass Band will be waiting at the pub, as well as Heart of Sidley’s mascot Uncle Bumble.
Ninfield Road traders will also be open until 7.30pm for late-night shopping.
Heart of Sidley chairman Jay Carroll said: “We’re really looking forward to kick starting the Christmas period in Sidley with this fantastic event.
“So please come along and join in the fun with the Heart of Sidley.”
