More than 2,000 stars were dedicated to loved ones at the St Michael’s Hospice annual Lights of Love services held across Hastings and Rother on Sunday.

Every year the Lights of Love service offers the opportunity to remember a loved one by dedicating a star or heart on a Christmas tree.

This year the Hospice had trees in nine locations across our catchment area in Battle, Bexhill on Sea, Hastings Old Town, Hastings Crematorium, Rye, Ticehurst, Ninfield, Winchelsea and at the Hospice itself in St Leonards on Sea.

Head of Fundraising, Perdita Chamberlain, said: “We would like to send our thanks to Little Down Christmas Tree Farm in Westfield who donate the majority of our Christmas trees for our Lights of Love services.

“We are delighted to bring the services and trees to venues across Hastings and Rother giving people across our catchment area the opportunity to connect with the Hospice and remember their loved ones.

This year we welcomed Winchelsea and Ninfield as new venues. We would also like to thank all the choirs who joined us at the services and created a truly magical atmosphere. ”

“Yet again we are amazed by the level of support from the community of Hastings and Rother and wish each of our supporters a very happy Christmas.”
