Little Common cubs do their best to help Haiti

The youngsters of 1st Little Common cub pack have started to raise money for Haiti.

They have been looking for different ways to show support for children and families now living in total devastation caused by the earthquake.

Akela Barbara Evans said: "We have the Beavers and Scout sections on board and are making small green shelter boxes to put our money in.

"We hope to raise at least 499 for one shelter box but maybe with the help of the community we could raise more.

"Our fundraising has taken off with making and selling of cakes at the local school and we will be holding a pyjama cub evening.

"A sleepover is intended which all the cubs enjoy. A few of our home made green boxes have gone out to local shop keepers in Little Common, a few cubs have donated their pocket money. If anyone out there is willing to help this very good cause please do so."

Barbara has already been encouraged by the response of the youngsters and added: "I am extremely pleased with my boys - I would not swap them for anybody, they are a good bunch."
