Little Common Royal British Legion Christmas Fair

Rotten weather did little to stop members of Little Common Royal British Legion enjoying their Christmas fair.

The event raised 817.85 which will go towards the Benevolent Fund for the armed forces and committee member and former chairman Gill Masterton commented: "We were very pleased, and considering the awful weather and the number of bazaars being held at the same time in our area, we consider ourselves very lucky."

The fair was a joint members and committee effort and included a wide range of items donated locally.

Gill said: "We ask for donations, and people bring things as well. We had a tombola which was very successful, a raffle and cake sale, jewellery stall, a Guess The Doll competition with a hand-knitted Bob The Builder...a book stall which sold books, children's books, games, jigsaws and dvd's, and we had a bric-a-brac stall. We also had a really lovely card sale this year as well which sold cards for every occasion -

Christmas, birthdays, get well, father's day, mother's day, everything you could need. I think that was very successful as well."
