Lucky escape for driver as car overturns

A DRIVER had a lucky escape when their car ended up on its roof early Wednesday morning.

Severe weather conditions caused the silver Ford Mondeo to skid on an icy section of the A269 Bexhill to Ninfield road between Beacon Hill and St Mary's cottages.

Police reports say they received a call from a member of public at 5.55am, informing them that the driver of the Mondeo was uninjured and out of the vehicle.

A section of the road was closed for two hours, causing severe disruption to early morning commuters, whilst the vehicle was recovered.
