Magistrates' Court round-up

February 3:

Lucia Fashola (aged 19), of Trinity Villas, Hastings, pleaded guilty to causing £1,000 damage to three windows and furniture belonging to the Lansdowne Hotel, Hastings, on January 19. The court made a community order with a requirement for 40 hours of unpaid work. She also pleaded guilty to assaulting a police officer at the Conquest Hospital on January 19. She was given a one year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £100 compensation.

Tyrone Avis (aged 29), of Buckingham Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman by beating. The offence took place at Hastings on January 16. The court made a community order with requirements to attend a domestic abuse programmed and to complete 50 hours of unpaid work.

Robert Kasperowicz (aged 42), of Eversfield Place, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving while disqualified and driving with no insurance. The offences took place at Little Common Road, Bexhill on December 30. The court made a community order with a requirement of 40 hours unpaid work.

Zarene Legge (aged 29), of Meadow Crescent, Bexhill, pleaded guilty to being in possession of 8.4 grams of cannabis at Bexhill on August 21 last year. She was given a one year conditional discharge.

Lawrence Vallier-Green (aged 23), of Whatlington Road, Battle, pleaded guilty to charges of being in possession of cannabis and cocaine at the John Logie Baird, Havelock Road, Hastings, on January 16. He was given a two year conditional discharge.

Graham Bedwell (aged 46), of Lytham Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to driving a Honda vehicle without due care and attention on Filsham Road and The Green on November 29 last year. He was fined £120 and his driving record endorsed with three points.

Michael Penfold (aged 69), of New Winchelsea Road, Rye, pleaded guilty to driving a Mazda car on Winchelsea Road, Rye on December 2, while twice over the drink drive limit. He also pleaded guilty to failing to stop after an accident in which two other vehicles were damaged. He gave a breath alcohol reading of 77 microgrammes. The legal limit is 35mg. He was fined £300 and banned from driving for 18 months.

February 5:

Michael Mortimer (aged 23), of no fixed address, pleaded guilty to three charges of assaulting women by beating. The offences took place at Hastings on November 13. He was fined a total of £300 and ordered to pay £620 prosecution costs.

Ryan Etherton (aged 39), of Linley Close, Hastings, was jailed for eight weeks after pleading guilty to stealing meat worth £98.92 from Marks and Spencers in Hastings on September 26 and to stealing three pairs of jeans, worth £205, from Debenhams, Hastings, on September 21.

February 10:

Richard Culrey (aged 33), of Beauclerk Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to being drunk and disorderly in George Street, Hastings, on January 23. He was fined £100.

Leanne McDonnell (aged 24), of London Road, St Leonards, pleaded guilty to stealing cosmetics worth £73.23 from L J Collis Chemists at Bexhill on January 26. She was given a one year conditional discharge.

Stephen Jackson (aged 56), of Queens Road, Hastings, pleaded guilty to assaulting a woman. The offence took place at St Leonards on October 20 last year. He was fined £80.
